To celebrate the launch of GoPro’s new cameras, the GoPro HERO8 Black and GoPro MAX, we organised and hosted lifestyle media on press trips across Australia and New Zealand, as well as hosting in-depth briefings with top tier tech media.
To launch the HERO8 in Sydney, we took lifestyle & travel media and content creators on “The Ultimate Hump Day in Sydney”, with a jam-packed itinerary designed to highlight the features of the new flagship camera. The epic day began with a breakfast briefing, followed by a high-speed jet boat ride around the harbour to test out the camera’s next-level video stabilisation thanks to its HyperSmooth 2.0 feature. Media then tried out the TimeWarp features as they soared high in the sky with Sydney Seaplanes, followed by enjoying 360° ocean views at the top of Barrenjoey Lighthouse and an afternoon of water activities at luxury floating vila, Lilypad. Attendees included the likes of News.com.au, Man of Many, 9Honey, Urban List.

Across the ditch, our NZ team and lifestyle media from Urban List NZ and NewsHub were also putting the GoPro HERO8 Black to the test. They traveled to the beautiful Lake Taupo where they took part in a weekend of adrenaline - everything from skydiving and bungee jumping to white water rafting, kayaking and go-karting! The main objective of these trips was to hero the GoPro HERO8 Black as the ultimate travel accessory, and showcase the ease of use of both the camera and the new and improved GoPro app.

Finally, to launch GoPro’s new 360° camera the GoPro MAX, we organised a famil for media including Buzzfeed, Lifehacker and Women Love Tech. Following a breakfast briefing, our attendees traveled in style as they cruised down the south coast of Sydney in beautiful BMW convertibles - putting the camera’s 360° filming capabilities to the test - before an afternoon of go-karting. Our guests became 360° pros after content creator Nick Kavo took them through the simple editing and reframing process on the GoPro app over lunch at the iconic Scarborough Hotel. This press trip coincided with an epic shoot with Sunrise - where presenter Shaun White and GoPro advocate and content creator Jake Rich took the GoPro MAX out for a drive around Sydney’s most iconic landmarks.
