Meet the Thrivers: Hazal Alkac, Head of Content & Social Media





Hazal Alkac leads our Content & Social Media division. With a wealth of experience across journalism, content creation and social media strategy for brands like The Upside, Musashi, Aussie Bodies, and Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE).


Favourite piece of work from Thrive?

There’s a lot to be proud of at Thrive. If I had to pick one, I think the work that Thrive Studio did for ANZ’s Ace the Open campaign in February was outstanding. Not to boast, but my team is so good at what they do that they can power through some intricate projects, especially on time sensitive campaigns. So for ANZ we shot and edited a social video in one day, updated the website assets and we designed the tally tracker within a few hours which was used across all digital channels and broadcast.

Influencer activation (or actual influencer) that you admire?

@adutakech I worked with Adut when she was 16 and she was fresh into the modelling scene. A few months later I had her booked for a campaign and her agent called me to cancel, saying Saint Laurent wanted to book her for a Paris runway. Ever since that show she has opened or closed catwalks for every single major brand and appeared in campaigns for Fendi and Chanel. She was voted “Model of the Year” last year and has stayed her sweet, kind self through the whole journey.


Career highlight?

Not to poo-poo my current career, but I was a music journalist in my first couple of years out of uni, so interviewing Beck, John Legend, HAIM and Childish Gambino are some of my favourite memories.


Favourite city (anywhere in the world)?

Istanbul, Turkey - my homeland.


One thing people don’t know about you?

I make a mean Turkish breakfast and I’m great at reading Turkish coffee fortunes.
