Thrive is proud to have recently wrapped up its third successful campaign to support the amazing Good Friday Appeal.
The Appeal holds a special place in the hearts of Victorians and raises much-needed funds to support the work of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Celebrating its 85th year of fundraising, Thrive was committed to creating as much noise around the Appeal as possible to ensure nostalgia was high, celebration was rife and donations were a plenty.
Over two months, we enjoyed telling the stories of the wonderful people involved with the Appeal and demonstrating the impact it has had on the lives of others. Regional media highlights included a profile on long serving volunteer Olive Wellington in The Weekly Times, a feature (and cover) with The Ballarat Courier to support Mount Clear College’s fundraising efforts and a piece recognising the efforts of the CFA from Shepparton News.
We worked closely with key media partners including the teams at Seven, Herald Sun, 3AW, Nova Entertainment and Ace Radio but also took delight in engaging a wealth of media across the country to ensure the tale of the Good Friday Appeal was told.
When the ‘big day’ finally arrived, Thrive joined thousands of passionate Victorian’s and crowded into the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, where the highly anticipated Kids Day Out erupted and the live broadcast rolled out.
Victorians rallied together to support the Appeal and at a stroke past midnight, we were thrilled (and proud) to learn of the record-breaking final fundraising figure $17,445,624.38.
