Thrive was proud to be by the side of long-standing client, Square, as it launched its most innovative mobile payments product for small businesses to date, Square Reader. Square Reader is the smallest, most mobile and most affordable credit and debit card reader available in the market that allows you to quickly accept card payments directly on your smartphone or tablet device.
The March reveal was soon followed by an Australian first – a visit from Silicon Valley royalty – Square’s global CEO and co-founder, Jack Dorsey.
Thrive orchestrated a strategic, whirlwind publicity tour during Jack’s 48-hours visit which saw the entrepreneur and his mobile payments company dominate the news, tech and business pages with features appearing across top tier media outlets including; Sunrise, SMH, AFR, Herald Sun and The Australian.
And of course we couldn’t go past a lengthy feature in one of our all-time fave publications, The Collective. Lisa Messenger’s intimate story did not disappoint and told the Square story perfectly.
Getting straight to (small) business, Jack’s first engagement downunder kicked off with a thought leadership panel discussion, ‘Talk Shop’. The event was held at Melbourne’s iconic Federation Square where Jack, along with key Square sellers and early adopters of Square’s technology discussed the Aussie SMB market to an audience of over 400 entrepreneurs, small businesses, media and influencers.
In addition to meeting and working with one of the most influential tech icons of the decade, the campaign delivered exceptional results for Square including nearly fifty stories across the country.
