Who's Who: Zoe Walsh

Title: Group Account Director

Expertise: Consumer, tourism, food & beverage, live events and entertainment

Life before Thrive: I kicked off my PR career at Channel Nine as a Publicity Assistant which was a great introduction to the world of PR in Melbourne. I was then introduced to the world of agency, working as a Senior Account Manager at Bastion Effect (Undertow Media), working in both the Melbourne and Sydney office. During this period, I worked on some great brands and campaigns for Lavazza, Melbourne Central, The Color Run and Blundstone. A great opportunity to do a maternity cover contract at Nova Entertainment in Sydney arose and I jumped at it. After my contract, I moved back home to Melbourne and worked at opr (Ogilvy Public Relations) as the account lead on Crown Resorts, one of the most demanding, challenging but rewarding clients across Melbourne and Perth. I also led campaigns for Melbourne Fashion Week, Bacardi Martini, Netflix and Intercontinental Hotels Group. I was then lured across to Crown to be their Head of PR to help launch Crown Sydney. I was one month away from relocating to Sydney for my role but as a result of COVID-19, this was put on hold. Then my wonderful fiance James decided he no longer wanted to uproot our lives and move interstate, so for the first time in my life, I put life (and love) before my career, and we stayed in Melbourne. So for the past six months I have been working at Victoria Police in a contract role in the proactive media team, managing the external communications for 12 divisions, advising and influencing senior police members and spokespeople. It was great to do something meaningful and community focused during the pandemic and I am now so ready to get back into the hustle of agency life!

Loves at Thrive: I was immediately attracted to the energy, passion and drive displayed by Leilani and Kelly every time I spoke to them - I knew I wanted to be part of the Thrive journey. I am already blown away by how welcoming and kind everyone is - and I haven’t even started yet! Of course the client mix is also a huge plus with some incredible brands across many different categories. Having worked both agency side and in-house, I am an agency girl and can’t wait to be part of what I truly believe is the best agency in the country. Bring it on!
