LGBTQIA+ Australians face challenges in regional towns, where lack of visible communities and distance from urban celebrations contribute to feelings of isolation. 

To show that Tinder supported regional LGBTQIA+ Australians, on Mardi Gras weekend, we launched the Big Rainbow – a brand new, totally fabulous ‘Big’ landmark, and the first monument to regional pride and inclusion. 

After a splashy Sydney launch, we took the big rainbow on a roadshow of Aussie country towns before finding it a permanent home in Daylesford, Victoria and donating $100,000 from Tinder Australia to support regional LGBTQIA+ community organisations. Thousands of stories later, Tinder continues its commitment to diversity and inclusion with Thrive’s support.
