LawConnect, the platform providing Australians with artificial intelligence (AI) legal information and access to trusted lawyers, has acquired Australian lawyer marketplace, Finchly, bringing its operations under the LawConnect brand to accelerate the development of a unified, global legal services marketplace.

The acquisition combines LawConnect’s established legal technology infrastructure and national presence with Finchly’s expertise in legal client matching, strengthening how individuals and businesses connect with trusted legal support.

Bridging the gap in legal access

Newly appointed CEO of LawConnect, David Vitek, said the acquisition strengthens the platform’s ability to close the gap between legal need and specialist expertise.

“Law firms are seeking more consistent, better-aligned enquiries that allow them to specialise and focus on high-value work, while consumers require clearer guidance when dealing with legal matters,” Vitek said.

“The acquisition is designed to address these challenges, bringing together LawConnect’s legal navigation infrastructure and global presence with Finchly’s proven marketplace capability, creating a clearer pathway for consumers navigating legal issues, while strengthening how firms receive and manage enquiries.”

LawConnect has engaged more than 167,000 Australian customers over the past 12 months, reflecting growing demand for accessible legal information and support. Finchly has built a network of more than 350 participating law firms across Australia, adding an average of 120 to 150 new firms as customers per month.

This combined scale strengthens the platform’s ability to match consumer demand with specialist legal expertise more efficiently.

Christian Beck, Founder of LawConnect and its parent company LEAP Legal Software, will continue to oversee the strategic direction of the business at a group level.

Beck said, “This acquisition brings our combined trust and complementary strengths together under one platform, allowing us to connect more people with the right legal support while continuing to deliver well-matched, high-quality enquiries to firms.”

Finchly’s technology is completing its transition into the LawConnect platform, with the combined business operating under the LawConnect brand.

LawConnect’s next phase of leadership

David Vitek, previously co-founder of Australia’s leading tradesperson marketplace, hipages, brings marketplace experience in scaling digital platforms nationally.

In his new role as CEO of LawConnect, Vitek will oversee the integration and development of LawConnect’s expanded marketplace offering.

Dino Talic, co-founder of Finchly, will also join LawConnect as Chief Operating Officer. Talic also previously served as Product Executive at hipages, where he led the execution of product vision to scale the platform’s marketplace capability nationally.

Vitek said the partnership builds on the group’s deep relationships within the legal sector: “Bringing Finchly into the business is a disciplined step forward in expanding the LawConnect platform and improving how legal services are discovered and delivered.”

“We see a future where accessing legal help is no longer overwhelming or uncertain.”

“This is about more than integration; it’s about building the foundational infrastructure for a more accessible and transparent legal marketplace that works better for all.”
